Pool Tile is falling off?
This is usually a result of bond failure of the "mud" that was used to set the tile in. This could also be evidence of a cracked beam. "Popped" tile could be the result of not having caulking in the expansion joint between the coping and the deck, allowing water to run behind the tile and loosen the tile. If just the tile has fallen off (and not the old mud) The tile may be temporarily regrouted back in place. Regardless of the cause, the effect is the same, it bothers you and draws your eye every time you get in your pool. Give us a call and we'll be glad to come take a look at no cost and help you get your pool back to shiny happy at a price you will appreciate.
Pool Tile has white deposits?
Known as efflorescence , mineral salts such as calcium and magnesium may come out of the grout, artificial and natural stone coping, or from the setting mud and deposit on the front of the tile. It may also originate from the pool water from improper chemical balance or from residue left by evaporated chlorine. The efflorescence can be scraped off, blasted off with glass beads and/or "burned" off with a tile acid wash. Let us come take a look at no cost to you and figure out what best suits your needs and your budget.
Pool Tile is cracked?
This is usually caused by a cracked bond beam behind the pool tile, or perhaps from freezing surface water pressing against the tile during expansion. Or maybe it wasn't Frost Free pool tile to begin with, but a sub-standard home tile installed by a inexperienced tile setter. Standard procedure is to remove the tile and patch the crack in the bond beam. Then reinstall new tiles where the cracked tile was. If it turns out that the tile is not Frost Free then your best bet is to replace the entirety. Again, it costs you nothing to have us come out and take a look as all estimates are free.
Pool Tile replacement
Standard remove and replace charges average $20 per linear foot, plus $100 per skimmer . There are a wide variety of patterns/colors to choose from.
